Just like a guidebook or a map, a hotel concierge is a great source of information whilst you’re away. Although a concierge is quite often overlooked, they can be a world of knowledge and not only that they can take some of the leg work out of your visit including booking a table at a great restaurant and getting you tickets to the best show in town.
Help with the small things… As we just mentioned, it’s help with the little things that make life easier. The concierge will be an expert in all things local, looking for a great restaurant? VIP entrance to the hottest club in town? The concierge is your new BFF!
Don’t forget the bigger things too… This is where these guys really come into their own. If you’re looking for that perfect gift to take back for a special someone and you just can’t seem to find what you’re looking for, a concierge can save you time in sourcing this for you, even arrange to buy it for you. Concierges can also assist with even larger requests such as planning an outlandish wedding proposal! This shouldn’t be an easy cop out though lads!
If you have got a very involved request, it’s obviously better to give your concierge as much advance notice as possible, try calling ahead so that they can help you plan your trip, the more detail you can give them too the better they should be able to assist you. Any experienced concierge team shouldn’t be fazed by any unusual requests.
Show your gratitude! Although concierges don’t expect to be tipped, their job is viewed as a tipped position therefore, show your appreciation for their help, and they’ll go above and beyond.
